John Byrne
A pioneer in Fine Art Photomontage
John Byrne, has led an artists life for 30 years. Music and the visual arts have alternately had their
turns as the major emphasis. Studied at Manhattan School of Music , Columbia University
and worked as an assistant in a New York City commercial photography studio. Showed
painting and sculpture in NYC area and performed as soloist with members of the New York
Philharmonic and Boston Symphonies. Became adjunct faculty member at Bates College in
Maine and in the course of overcoming computer illiteracy became an Adobe Certified Expert
in Photoshop. Realized that "the most potent instrument for releasing the artistic in
myself had finally been put in my hands". Represented in Maine by Jameson Gallery.
